Mike Burns was also a wrestling coach to Bergenfield Bears elementary and middle school kids, and also helped out in high school wrestling. He had a 15 year old daughter, and just had a son, Mikey Jr., on February 3rd I believe of this year. It is heart breaking that his little guy will never get to learn wrestling and every other sport from his daddy, nor get to goof around and enjoy Mike’s silliness. Mike was a class clown, and still til his last day couldn’t help but make you laugh whenever you spoke to him. If you knew him he would not pass you by without saying hi, chatting it up, smiling and making you smile. My heart breaks for his family, his daughter, his stepchildren, all the kids he coached, and all of his many friends. This is sudden and shocking, and affects hundreds in Bergenfield and Ridgefield Park. I know this sounds cliché, but Mike Burns will absolutely not be forgotten.
